Component Plugin Defaults > ...

Component Plugin Setup sets the default settings on a component edit window to be as you specify. The first time in a Modeling session that you Model > Component > Add , for example, a Beam Stiffeners - Beam component, the edit window for that custom component will, by default, be populated with the settings specified using Component Plugin Setup .

1 . Home > Project Settings > Job > Plugin Defaults > Component Plugin Defaults .

2 . The Select Plugin Setup dialog opens. On it is a selection list of custom components that have setup windows. Double-click one of the components on the list.

These are the components with setup windows that are installed when you have an SDS2 Detailing and Concrete license. Since components are plugins, additional components may be available to you to set up. Also, be aware that not all components have setup windows.

3 . A setup window opens for the component that you double-clicked in step 2. Make the setup choices you want to be applied to the window, then press " OK " to close the window.

4 . The next time you open Modeling and Model > Component > Add and select the component you just set up, that component's edit window will, by default, be populated with the setup choices you made in step 3.

Default behavior for subsequently added components within a Modeling session is dependent on the plugin's programmer. Typical behavior is for the edit window for a component to use the last-entered settings as the defaults for each subsequently added component of that same type within a Modeling session, then to use Component Plugin Setup for the first time a component is added in a subsequent Modeling session.

Doing this ensures that the same plugin will be used throughout the development of your current Job. If you do not do this, the plugin used in your current Job may be overwritten the next time a new version of SDS2 programs are installed .
